Job description

An automotive medium/heavy duty bus dealership based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for over 50 years is seeking an experienced Diesel Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our team. Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must Be 21 Years of Age
    A minimum of 3 years’ automotive service, automotive diesel mechanic, and/or engine diagnostic experience in a professional capacity
    Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    Application of in-depth automotive repair knowledge
    Performs skilled mechanical work while analyzing and diagnosing problems
    Inspect, replace and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance on Buses
    Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology
    Diesel experience and Cummins engine certification preferred but not required
    Experience in CDK or other automotive dealership management software preferred
    A/C repairs a plus
    Microsoft Outlook and Excel
    Valid driver’s license
    Ability to operate and drive vehicles
    Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests
    Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities
Coordinate with service management to provide timely service repairs
Follow diagnostic repair plans as required by manufacturer
Meet/exceed service sales goals while providing superior service
Work with management to document customer repair plans in a timely manner once repairs are completed
Maintain a neat/clean appearance
Efficiently navigate a computer

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds
Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
Walk/stand for the majority of their workday
