Like any mode of transportation, though, there are risks involved. With approximately 23 million students boarding the big yellow bus each school day, it’s important to make sure that the process is as safe as possible. Many people don’t realize that the greatest risk is not actually riding the bus, but getting on and off of it.
Transportation South Celebrates School Bus Milestone, Delivers 10,000th Bus
Transportation South is excited to announce the delivery of our 10,000th school bus since the formation of our company 25 years ago! In early April 2013, Transportation South delivered a 2014 Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 school bus to the Jefferson County Board of Education to mark the milestone.
Transportation South Hosts "Love the Bus" Day to Honor Alabama Bus Drivers
Transportation South believes in supporting and showing its appreciation for Alabama’s bus drivers and is hosting the third annual “Love the Bus” Valentine’s celebration to do so. On Thursday, Feb. 14, Transportation South will show its gratitude by honoring Alabama’s best school bus drivers, as voted by the students, parents and teachers they serve.

Pelham Senior Center Enjoys New Bus
Members of the Pelham Senior Center recently became the proud new owners of a 25-passenger bus purchased on April 5 from Transportation South’s headquarters in Pelham. The new bus was personally delivered to the seniors by Pelham Mayor Don Murphy just three days after the Pelham City Council voted to approve the $53,500 purchase.
